June 2020 Release
- The website has been split up into sections. Each server now has its own homepage with its own resources. The home page links to community-wide resources, and also to each server's home page.
- Added many custom images and optimized existing ones.
- Split Applications up into multiple pages with server-specific applications (i.e. applying for Admin on DarkRP doesn't apply you for admin on Build/Kill, and they each have different questions)
- Added the Community Moderator application. This role will be responsible for maintaining the image and culture of our community. Their job will primarily be to moderate the Discord and Steam Community, but will have authority to ensure that players on each server are also staying true to our community rules.
- Simplified the R:indexOf function definition on the E2 Lib documentation to include all possible parameter types in one line instead of many.
- Implemented additional measures to improve site performance and load times.
- Browsers that support the .wepb image format will display all images as .webps, and browser that do not will display them as .jpgs
- Implemented a smart routing tool that will allow visitors to load our content more quickly.
- Communication which has the sole purpose of insulting, berating, or belittling another individual or group
- Optimized existing images and shrunk existing content to improve load times on slower connections.
- Attempted to fix the loading screen and add a better "you're done" feedback, but Garry's Mod is garbage and won't let us do it the way we want.
- Changed Maps from
rp_downtown_tits_v2
to rp_southside_day
- This new map will provide a much more immersive and rich experience for players. Working traffic lights, roads wide enough to drive on, a wide range of buildings for players to use, and plenty of small details and secrets to discover. The layout of the city may be difficult to understand and navigate at the start, so players are encouraged to take some time and explore the map.
- Wanted duration increased from 120 seconds to 300 seconds
- New F4 Menu with access to the website and rules
- New sleek HUD which better organizes and displays information to be easier to understand and look at. Shows player Hunger and Thirst, changes how names appear above other players
- New Tab menu that simplifies the design, making it easier to see jobs and players at a glance as well as issue commands.
- Added new player model packs.
- Due to a bloated, unchecked economy, and our new vision on how the economy should work, players' wallets will be reset.
- Due to changing addons and economy reworks, players' banks will be emptied
- The DEA Agent is a new job for law enforcement. Their a specialized version of the Police Officer, designed to sniff drugs and drug setups. Only two DEA Agents can be active at any given time, and their sniff has a limited range and long cooldown.
- Added the Mechanic Job
- The new mechanic job is a logical addition with simfphys. They are the only job that spawns with the simfphys repair weapon, and their job to help keep cars on the road. For now, this is their only purpose, however in the future they may also be responsible for modifying vehicles in specific ways to give players the opportunity to give their cars a unique look and feel, at a price.
- Removed standard money printers
- Implemented new Tier-based money printers
- Tier Printers are much larger
- Tier Printers can be upgraded through 11 tiers, each tier increasing its output and power consumption
- Tier Printers require batteries to operate. Batteries must be purchased at the hardware store.
- Removed TDM
- Previous purchased vehicles are unlikely to be refunded
- Added base simfphys, the mobility scooter, the redneck shitwagon, and the NFSMW police car.
- Vehicles will quickly lose health when under water, eventually exploding.
- Any extra simfphys modifications?
- SimfPhys vehicles will consume fuel.
- Fuel Prices are set using historic values. When the server launches, the fuel prices will be set to real-life average fuel prices as of January, 1970. Every 6 hours, the fuel price will progress by one month (i.e. 6 hours after launch, fuel prices will be based on February, 1970) until present-day, at which point the progress will reverse (regressing to 1970 month-by-month, every 6 hours)
- The Mayor can set tax rates per fuel-type. Tax revenue will go to the City's Funds
- Removed TDM cars from the buy list
- Added SimfPhys vehicles to the buy list
- Vehicles now retain their health and fuel when stored, or when the player disconnects
- Players cannot sell or store their vehicle if the vehicle is further than 1,000 units away
- Vehicles that explode can be re-spawned with 0 health
- When a player dies, their screen will flash red and fade to black for the duration of the respawn time.
- Players are force-respawned after 20 seconds.
- Thematic music will play during the respawn timer.
- The death screen properly shows the weapon their killer used to kill them
- When respawning, a simple fade-in-from-black effect occurs (< 1 second)
- Cooks will now have to buy food and cook it before being able to sell it. Certain foods give more health than others.
- The new cooking system implements a Thirst feature, requiring the player to drink every 80 minutes. When a player becomes parched, they will slowly lose health, similar to when hungry.
- Implemented a new Crafting System for black market and gun dealers
- Shipments largely do not exist anymore.
- The dealers will use various materials to hand-craft individual items at their customers' requests (This includes lockpicks, restraints, weapons, weapon attachments, ammo)
- Crafting supplies can be purchased from the hardware store.
- Added a new Character system
- Players can create up to three different characters that will persist across sessions.
- Characters will keep their health and thirst.
- When creating and customizing a character, players will give their Character a name (minimum 5 characters), a job (selecting from the majority of the jobs), and bodygroups (outfits, etc.)
- Other jobs, such as crime and police, will be acquired by physically going to the appropriate recruiter. (The police recruiter is in the police station, and so forth.)
- Money is not shared between characters.
- Removed M9k
- Added the base CW:2 pack
- CW:2 was added over M9K in order to create a combat experience more in-line with the theme of the rest of the server: Taking it slow. Due to the reduced mobility and high damage that comes with CW:2 weapons, the hope is that players will be less inclined to solve every problem with a gunfight, and be more open to the idea of diplomacy or stand-offs. Attachments are also a nice addition to give players more reason to visit the gun dealer as well as giving them more options to customize their loadouts and guns for specific purposes.
- Due to the amount of water in the new map, we've implemented an Airboat Vendor that sells Airboats to players for $1000
- Airboats may only operate on water, and will not function on land
- A Tour Guide NPC has been added at spawn. When spoken to, players will be greeted with a brief intro that will give them details on jobs, the hardware store, and the car dealer, and other important information.
- The Mayor's Safe has been placed in the map's bank vault.
- The Mayor's Safe cannot be robbed unless the mayor and at least two police officers are present on the server.
- The Mayor can no longer withdrawal from the Mayor's Safe.
- When the Mayor resigns, Taxes will reset, upgrades will reset, laws will not reset, city funds will not reset.
